Architecture at Zero is a design competition for decarbonization, equity and resilience, open to students and professionals worldwide. It serves to engage the fields of architecture, design, engineering and planning in the pursuit of sustainable design.
The 2023 competition challenge is to design an agriculture center, connecting the history of California’s first Black town, to its present aspiration to become a destination for sustainable agriculture and Black history.
Graduate students and professionals will also design housing for farm students on the site.
The 2023 Architecture at Zero competition winners were announced on July 14th.

California’s Title 24 Energy Code: What, Why and Where is it Going

Join us as we explore the history, intent and benefits of California’s Title 24, Part 6 Building Energy Efficiency Standards (Energy Code) and how it has evolved to meet the state’s energy policies and environmental goals. This presentation will also take a closer look at how these standards are structured, pathways for achieving compliance, and how they apply to the residential multi-family sector. Additionally, participants will discover which resources are available to better understand how to meet or exceed the Energy Code.
